meet the staff Mr. Donald (Don) E. Burris – CCP Managing Partner Mr. Burris has more than 30 years of practical and consulting experience and has served in compensation and benefit management positions for several Fortune 500 companies, including Ball Corporation and Federal Express. Mr. Burris has provided consulting services related to pay system design, skill based pay, performance management, individual and team based incentives, and manpower planning to a variety of manufacturing, service, and governmental organizations. He is known and respected nationally as a compensation professional and has served as a member of the national board of directors for the American Compensation Association (ACA), Regional ACA President, national ACA Workshop presenter, and the president of the Middle Tennessee Compensation Association. Mr. Burris is a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), a member of the ACA faculty for certification, and a Senior Instructor for CCP courses throughout the country. Education: BS Education – Indiana State University MBA – Wichita State University Mr. Steven (Steve) Thompson, Vice President, Consulting Services Mr. Thompson has more than 20 years of practical and consulting experience in the compensation field. He has held compensation management positions with Melvin Simon and Associates, Inc. (real estate development and property management) and Dollar General Corporation (retail). As a member of the management services arm of a regional public accounting firm and, more recently, with Burris and Associates, Mr. Thompson has provided consulting services related to many aspects of human resources management to a variety of service, manufacturing, and non-profit organizations. Mr. Thompson is a member of the American Compensation Association (ACA). Mr. Thompson brings expertise in pay system design, job evaluation, performance management, incentive pay, and employment law compliance. Education: BA Psychology – University of Minnesota, Morris MS Industrial Relations – Purdue University Ms. Lora Caperton Vice President, Survey Services Ms. Caperton administers most of the firm’s surveys and has assisted clients through job analysis, job description preparation, FLSA assessments, and survey administration. Ms. Caperton serves as office systems and computers operations coordinator and is responsible for preparation of reports manuals, forms, communication materials, and other resources for projects. Ms. Eleanor Burris, RN, CHSP Benefits Consultant Ms. Burris has over forty years experience in the nursing and health profession fields. Ms. Burris specializes in Occupational and Health Safety issues. Ms. Burris will conduct an onsite facility safety inspection, design your safety manual according to all federal, state, and local regulations. Ms. Burris will also implement a safety training program at your place of business. Ms. Burris will provide an periodic review of safety and health policy procedures. Ms. Burris also consults with employers to design, review, implement medical benefit plans. These plans consist of medical and dental insurance, life insurance, and occupational health. Workers' comp issues have been a priority since 1984. Ms. Burris has been certified as a Workers' Comp Case Manager by the State of Tennessee and has been conducting seminars in locations such as Nashville, Tennessee. Education:
